My name is Troy and I'm from Dallas, Texas. I am currently writing a history of the Dallas Theatres. I love old theatres and am a member of the Theatre Historical Society and the American Theatre Organ Society. This photo is the Majestic Theatre in Dallas. Opened in 1921, the Majestic remains as the only survivor of a glorious age.

I love old movies, and some new ones.

I am a fan of the classics -- from "The Birth of a Nation" through Hollywood's Golden era of the 1930's and 1940's. I do like some modern movies, but they somehow lack the magic of the old ones. This photo is of Buster Keaton (1895-1966). He was a great filmmaker and comedian -- for you young whippersnappers out there. Some of my favorite films include "The Godfather," "Cinema Paradiso," Once Upon a Time in America," "The Wizard of Oz," and many more.
